Bell H13-H Model Kit from Revell M*A*S*H helicopter 1:35 Scale

My Dad had purchased this Revell Bell H13-H Model Kit many years ago. This version of the kit was released in (or around) 1995. I’ll check the information in the box and update this blog post shortly. I saw the kit recently at my Dad’s house and asked him about it. Apparently he had started building it when he first bought it, but there were some fitting issues within it. He ended up moving on with other projects and didn’t get back to this one. I offered to finish building it for him recently.

It’s been fun so far, but also a bit of a challenge here and there. The fuselage was warped. I’m guessing the tooling is quite old. Maybe it warped coming out of the moulds or maybe it warped due to heat and age over the years. I managed to get most of the warping out of it which was good.

I’ll add some progress photos to this blog post soon. I don’t have time to work on this model atm. I’ve had a very additionally solid year of client work and a fair bit to get done between now and Christmas. Personal hobby projects like this model are now on hold till I get more of the client work done. All projects are on schedule. I wish I had 2x clones of me atm, but since that’s not going to happen, I’m just working long hours again.

There were also some issues with the instructions. They were not clear in places. I ended up getting reference help from some videos I found on YouTube. I have included them below:

I don’t have my Airbrush gear with me atm, so I’m painting this model with Tamiya Spray Rattle Cans and brushes (only for a few fine details).

I was also inspired by this build that I saw on Reddit.

This is definitely not a kit for beginners.

It looks like there is Photoetch for it, but I have not bought it.

I found history information about this kit on ScaleMates.
