For the past 20+ years, I have been using Photoshop pretty much every day (even on most weekends).
I was recently asked to digitally colour an illustrative logo drawing. I used Photoshop to do the job. My client provided a brief and explained that she imagined that the letters were textured and that she pictured the logo to have a soil/ dirt background (soil layers).
To do the project, I first found texture images of bark, honeycomb, the sky, leaves, water, bubbles, etc. I then went to work in Photoshop.
As per any project, I supplied updates to my client as I went. My client was very happy at every stage of the project and the end result.
