During 1999 I started working on the below artwork. I finished it in the year 2000. It is A1 paper size and created using lead pencils. It took over 100 hours to complete.
The artwork was based on a photograph taken by my Great-grandfather during the 1920’s (we think). The lady in the middle of the image (in the white dress) is my Great-grandmother. The photo was taken in the ‘Rockhampton Caves’ area. We believe the photo was taken on their property, but we are not sure.
I have only ever exhibited this artwork once at a rural Qld Art Exhibition (competition). I have never exhibited it since.
I own the original artwork. I had it drum-scanned years ago before it was framed and have had some limited prints created from the scan.
