Avatar Character and Rick and Morty Green Poral Mash-up Artwork – POSCA Paint Pens

My 5 year old cousin broke her Collarbone recently so I thought I’d paint her a picture. She likes the Avatar movies so I created a likeness of her as a cartoon Avatar character. The character was referenced from an image I found online. I have credited the artist below.

I created the artwork with POSCA Paint Pens on canvas.

Once I got the artwork mostly finished, I then realised I could do a ‘cross-over’ mash-up of ‘Avatar and Rick and Morty’ by including the green portal from Rick and Morty into the artwork. Certainly improved the overall artwork I think.

My cousin really likes it 🙂

I thought I had completed it at this stage, but felt it needed more colour. It was then that I realised it needed a green Portal 🙂
A very quick mock-up I did in Photoshop. I then free-hand copied this to the canvas. In doing so I slightly changed the head. I then start painting.
