R2-D2 Kits Toy Transformed into a Model

I found some Star Wars toys at an Op Shop a few years ago. In amongst the toys was what looks like a ‘rip off’ R2-D2. The body looks too tall and it is not pained.

At some point, I will modify this toy, do some scratch building on it, repaint it, and turn it into a model of R2-D2.

I’d also like to be able to make its head swivel. I saw this video recently which gave me a few ideas on how I might go about it:
